CardioDynamics and Vasomedical to integrate products
Fri, 13 Sep 2002 14:50:00 | Laurent Castellucci

Westbury, NY and San Diego, CA - Vasomedical Inc announced today that it would integrate BioZ® impedance cardiography (ICG) technology from CardioDynamics into its enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) machines.

The CardioDynamics BioZ ICG system uses sensors on the neck and chest to measure electrical impedance changes and measure cardiac parameters such as stroke volume, cardiac output, and systemic vascular resistance. Vasomedical's EECP device has been used primarily in the treatment of angina, and studies using BioZ ICG measurements have shown improvement in all of the above parameters with EECP therapy.

The 2 companies began copromoting their products in March of last year, but now CardioDynamics will receive a licensing fee for each original equipment manufacturer (OEM) circuit board purchased by Vasomedical.
