Over the past year, much debate has been given to the issue of drug-eluting stents (DES) and the risk of restenosis. Trials like COURAGE enrolled patients with chronic stable angina and looked to examine optimal medical therapy versus an invasive strategy. Despite much lively discussion surrounding the results of COURAGE, questions still linger regarding the use of invasive (DES or BMS) versus OMT and what treatment is best for patients with coronary heart disease.
