CHA2DS2-VASc: Fine-tuning prediction of stroke risk

Jul 22, 2011 12:55 EDT

Recently endorsed by both the ESC and HRS, the CHA2DS2-VASc scoring system is more precisely predictive of stroke risk—compared with the older CHADS2 score—for patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.

Have you adopted CHA2DS2-VASc in your practice?

Do you require funds for research?

Both the Queen of England (86 next birthday, sister 2 strokes dead at 71. Father died from atherosclerotic occulsive disease at 57) and Mukesh Ambani (father Dhirubhai first stroke at 53, overwieght, Indian food, genetic risk MYBPC3?, minimal exercise) are at risk.
