The ties that link CKD and VTE

Until recently, scientific discourse stipulated that chronic kidney disease caused dysfunctional platelets that did not favor the creation of thrombosis. But this has changed, as we now understand that CKD is in fact an inflammatory disease that promotes thrombosis and puts patients at greater risk for venous thromboembolism.
